meet rebecca

I have been a Registered Dietitian for over a decade. I completed a coordinated dietetics program from Eastern Michigan University and began my career as a clinical dietitian in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings. These early years of my career provided me with experience treating a variety of nutrition related medical concerns including gastrointestinal disease, cancer, and diabetes. I listened to the lived experience of the individuals I worked with and learned that nutrition is so much more nuanced than what’s taught in textbooks.

The stories of my patients, many of whom were weary of lifelong dieting and weight cycling, led me to seek out education and training in intuitive eating and a weight-inclusive approach. It was important to me to provide nutrition counseling that was evidence-based, aligned with my personal and professional values, and met the real life needs of my clients.

For the past five years, I have specialized in the treatment of eating disorders. I have experience working in PHP, IOP and outpatient levels of care for adults and adolescents. This work is deeply personal to me as I struggled with an eating disorder as a teen and young adult. I understand the damage caused by diet culture and unrealistic body standards. I also know that a life of recovery and food freedom is possible for every one. Now, as a mother, I am also passionate about supporting parents in promoting a food and body positive home.

I live in Bozeman, Montana with my husband and our two young children. We enjoy hiking, gardening and cross country skiing together. I am a big believer in the magic of hobbies and am currently learning to sew.

nutrition philosophy

Nourishment is self care. By adequately and faithfully feeding your body, you build trust within yourself.

The diet misinformation is loud but eating isn’t supposed to be complicated. I believe in gentle and flexible nutrition and that there isn’t one right way to eat. You can learn to provide your body with the nourishment it needs while also enjoying the food you eat. As you quiet down the external noise of diet culture, you can begin to tune in to the internal wisdom of your body and practice honoring its needs.

You were born trusting your body and it is possible to get back there. You are the expert in your body. I am here to support you in discovering and honoring your individual needs.

Health is not a size. Bodies are naturally diverse and the number on the scale actually tells us very little about your health status. Instead of centering interventions around weight, I help my clients integrate health promoting behaviors and to find sustainable and positive ways of caring for and respecting their bodies.

I provide nutrition therapy from a non-diet, weight inclusive and intuitive eating framework. In session, we invite curiosity, compassion, and humor as we learn to regain body trust, honor internal cues, and live at peace with food.
